Newborn Hearing Screening Program
minusText Sizeplus

Infants are in their critical language development stage from birth to about three years of age. During this time it is especially important for infants to have good hearing to help develop speech and language normally. Read Test Details.

After the results of the hearing test have been discussed with the parents, appropriate steps will be recommended. This could be a referral for further testing or medical management. Continued monitoring of an infant's hearing (as well as speech and language) abilities is always encouraged.

If you have further questions about this procedure, or would like to schedule your newborn for a hearing screen, please contact the Greene Therapy Services, 352-2300.
