The private, not-for-profit hospital was opened in 1951. Diagnostic, rehabilitative, behavioral and surgical services are all offered through the community hospital and its satellite facilities in Beavercreek, Fairborn, Xenia and Yellow Springs.

Greene Memorial Hospital has received local, state and national recognition for innovative programming and commitment to excellence. The cancer center earned a perfect score on the survey and received special commendation in six of seven categories. The John C. Hoctel Emergency Trauma Center is certified as a Level III Trauma Center, and was the first Level III Trauma Center in the state of Ohio to receive recertification.
